Depression and anxiety is a massive issue in our society today, in the past people dealt with this alone feeling they could not confide in friends and family feeling it was a taboo subject .Doctors often prescribed medication that in my opinion does not properly deal with the issue but masks it.
These days we are evolving in how to treat depression, there are thousands of groups set up world wide that support people through counselling and general information with options on how they can deal with depression for either themselves or a family member.
Over the past 2 months I have been working with a group who want to take a more natural approach to helping somebody who is suffering with depression. The program consists of a solid training and food plan along with an at home training plan. 2 months in and guess what IT WORKS , I have seen massive improvement in confidence levels, goals and future plans are been made, self esteem and self belief gets better by the day and all of this along with the added bonus of weightloss and fitness improvement.
I am very excited with how this program is working and I really believe this is the key to helping a lot of people work through depression, Infact before any medication is prescribed I think doctors should refer people straight to a good trainer and see if this is of benefit first. Seeing somebody week after week creating a brighter future for themselves is a beautiful thing , I love my job.
